🍊 A Life Transformed by Rocky Top

Enrolling in UT’s Animal Science program in 1977 set my life on an unexpected course. Joining the Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) fraternity transformed a large campus into a brotherhood of agriculture students and gave me a front-row seat to history: our chapter had just been entrusted with handling Smokey, the university mascot.

Though previously indifferent to sports, joining trainer JK Graves on the field ignited my passion for the game’s strategy and the massive coordination required for every kickoff. Since graduating in 1982, I’ve rarely missed a game at Neyland Stadium.

In 1998, Drew and I met, bonding over the Vols’ undefeated National Championship run. Our trip to the Fiesta Bowl introduced us to “Kokopelli,” the native American symbol of joy that became our lucky charm and the inspiration for our annual KokOasis Challenge—a tradition celebrating college sports with those closest to us.

The KokOasis Challenge is where the spirit of community meets the thrill of college athletics. Our challenges are designed to foster camaraderie among family, cherished friends, and guests who share our passion for the games. Whether you’re a seasoned fanatic or a first-time spectator, there’s a special place for everyone. — Kev
